JUST IN: Nigeria’s Electricity Grid Collapses for the 2nd Time in 5 Days

Nigeria has once again been thrown into darkness as the nation’s electricity grid on Tuesday morning collapsed.

The collapse, the second in the last one week was confirmed by the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) via a statement.

In the statement, the EKEDC, pleaded with customers to be patient as efforts were already in place to restore power.

“kindly be informed that there was a system collapse at 10:48hrs which has resulted to a loss of power supply across our network.

“We are currently working with our TCN  partners as we hope for the speedy restoration of the grid,”the statement read in part. The national grid collapsed for the first time on last week Friday.

In 2025, the national grid collapsed over eight times.
