Mr. Pascal Gabriel Dozie, the founder of the defunct Diamond Bank Nigeria Limited and a former chairman of MTN Nigeria, has died at the age of 85.
The former banker, according to family sources that spoke to journalists died in the early hours of Tuesday barely 24 hours to his 86th birthday.
Diamond Bank one of Nigeria’s most innovative banks in the last two decades merged with Access Bank in April 20219 after negotiations that lasted for over six months.
The resultant Access Bank retained the “diamond” logo of the bank as part of preserving the legacy of the bank.
Mr. Dozie later handed over the leadership of Diamond Bank to his son, Dozie who later superintended the merger with Access Bank.
