Its a ‘Terrible Lie,’ Kwankwanso Does Not Support Gov Yusuf’s Planned Defection, NNPP Clarifies

The New Nigerian Peoples Part  (NNPP), has debunked media reports suggesting that its national leader, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has endorsed the planned defection of the Kano State govenor, Mr. Kabir Yusuf to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The party in a statement on Tuesday described the reports as a “terrible lie”aimed at tarnishing the image of the party and diminishing its standing.

The NNPP reiterated the position of Sen Kwankwaso insisting that the position of the party’s national leader against the planned defection of Governor Yusuf remained unchanged.

In the statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the NNPP, Ladipo Johnson,  the party stated that “This is a terrible lie and a clear example of a shameful and obvious falsehood coming from people who clearly have no sense of right and wrong and are completely without any conscience.

The NNPP spokesman reiterated that, “It has become clear that people who want to leave the party have ‘no self worth’ if they feel they have to lie to the public about Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s position.

“Intentionally twisting his words to trick people into thinking he supports their upcoming action is as childish and pitiful as it gets.

“We would like to kindly ask these people to leave the party if they decide to go. If you think you’re heading towards better opportunities and have the support of people around you, then go ahead.

“Do not try to trick people into thinking you have the support or approval of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.”

Concluding, the party maintained that “By God’s grace, the 2027 elections will pass, and those who chose to betray trust will face the judgment of the people of Kano.
