Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has once again reiterated his resolve to contest the 2027 bpresidential election.
Atiku, 77, while speaking with the Voice of America said that the 2027 presidential election will be his 7th attempt to govern Nigeria.
Atiku while responding to a question on whether he will still contest the election said,
“Of course, I will keep contesting as long as I am alive and healthy
“Even the former US President Abraham Lincoln contested seven times before finally winning.
He also hinted at forming an alliance with other political actors as the PDP may not be able to pull it alone.
“However, given the current state of the PDP, it is clear that a single-handed effort will not suffice to win the election. Strong support and collaboration with other parties are required,” he said.
Atiku recently met with the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi in Abuja where both of them did not disclose their decision after the meeting.
