I Don’t Have Any Problems with Gov Alia-, SGF, George Akume
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume on Saturday reiterated that there was no friction between him and the Governor of Benue State, Fr. Hyacinth Alia.
There has been speculations that the SGF was locked in a battle for supremacy with his home state governor.
However, speaking at a stakeholders meeting with members of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Government House, Markudi, Akume who was represented by Elder Simon Shango stated that “The party is determined to ensure unity of purpose among the members, and he (Akume) emphasised that no one will go away with our mandate anymore, and we will do our best to ensure that the marriage continues.”
“There is no issue with the governor and they have been relating well.”
Shango continued, “The SGF said he is your (governor’s) eyes in Abuja. He appreciates the work you have done so far. In a situation like this there must be problems, but they are being solved
“On the unity of purpose. we must stand, we can not stand in the difference.”
On his part, Governor Alia who had earlier welcomed the party members appreciated the party for reposing confidence in him, promised that he would struggle hard to restore all the glories of the state.
