Speaking to journalists about the programmes lined up, the project coordinator, Comrade Darlington Onwe said that “the initiative focuses on community-based interventions across Izzi and Ebonyi Local Government Areas, utilizing community gatherings, festivals, town hall meetings, and worship centres to raise awareness and provide support services. Known as the “Community Crash Programme,” it emphasizes eradicating harmful practices and empowering women and girls through rights promotion and community capacity-building.

Explaining further, Mr. Onwe stated that, “This collaborative effort integrates principles from international frameworks such as CEDAW, the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), and the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda (UNSCR 1325).
