Governor Obaseki, Replaces Shaibu, Appoints Omobayo Godwin as New Deputy
Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has appointed Engr. Omobayo Godwin, as his new deputy governor.
Omobayo Godwin, 38 replaces Philip Shaibu who was impeached earlier in the on Monday by the Edo State House of Assembly after he was found guilty of gross misconduct.
Omobayo is a native of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area in the same Edo North Senatorial District, where the impeached deputy governor came from.
Born July 19, 1986, Omobayo has a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and MSc. in Public Administration both from the University of Benin (UNIBEN).
Omobayo is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Until his new appointment, he was a Senior Maintenance Engineer in Dresser Wayne West Africa Limited.
The new deputy governor has been officially inaugurated at the Government House, Benin City.
