Fuel Scarcity Hits Abuja, Kaduna, Niger States
Long queues have returned to petrol stations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and its environs.
The situation has exacerbated the transport situation in the Abuja.
FACTSHEET checks in major bus stops indicate that passengers in their hundreds are stranded as there are few taxis to ferry commuters to their destinations.
Many petrol stations are locked aside from those that have service bays for wheel balancing and oil change services.
A manager of one of the independent petrol stations in the Garki area of Abuja who spoke to FACTSHEET on the condition of anonymity said that “there is no product to sell. We don’t really understand what is going on.”
Several major marketing outlets including Shafa, Shema, Mobil, Ardova and NNPCL petrol stations in Abuja visited by FACTSHEET were all under lock.
Similarly, motorists in Kaduna and Niger states have also reported that petrol stations in the states have no fuel while the few that are selling are doing so at over N750 per litre.
The Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has not responded to enquiries about the latest situation at press time.
