Former Sokoto Governor, Sen Aminu Tambuwal Officially Joins ADC

Senator Aminu Tambuwal, the lawmaker representing Sokoto South in the Senate and a former governor of Sokoto State has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The lawmaker who also served previously as the Speaker of the House of Representatives also announced he has joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a letter addressed to the PDP ward chairman in Tambuwal/Shinfiri ward in Sokoto State, the former governor attributed his decision to leave the PDP on the lingering  leadership crisis bedeviling the party.

According to him, “The leadership disagreements and divisions within the party at various levels have made it increasingly difficult for me to continue my active participation and commitment as a member.

“The ongoing conflicts have, unfortunately, weakened the unity and direction that once defined the party.”

The former governor, however, expressed appreciation to the PDP for the opportunities it gave him to serve the country in different capacities.

He reiterated that his decision was driven by his belief that Nigeria needs “a stronger political platform built on integrity, accountability, inclusiveness, and a clear commitment to national development.
