FG Bows to ASUU, Removes Varsities, Polytechnics from IPPIS
The Federal Government has finally accepted the proposal of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) which had vehemently rejected the inclusion of their members in Integrated Personnel Payment System (IPPIS).
Also included in the exemption are Federal Polytechnics/ Monotechnics and Federal Colleges of Education.
The minister said that henceforth, Vice-Chancellors of universities do not need to abandon their work to visit Abuja to process the salaries of the staff of their schools.
Recall that ASUU had at several points embarked on strike to drive hom teir demand one of which was removal of its members from the IPPIS PAYMENT PLATFORM.
ASUU had rather put forward the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) which according to them was developed specifically o carter for the peculiar need and terrain of the Nigeria University system
