Ex Yobe Governor, Bukar Abba Ibrahim Dies in Saudi Arabia

Senator  Bukar Abba Ibrahim, a former governor of Yobe State on Sunday died in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aged 73 years.

The former governor has been ill and was said to be in Saudi Arabia for treatment.

His death was confirmed by a member of the family who took to the social media to announce the passing of the politician.

“Sen. Bukar Abba Ibrahim has passed away just now in Makkah. May Allah grant him peaceful repose and Jannatul Firdaus as his final abode Amin Thumma Amin,” the family member wrote on Facebook.

Also, the governor of Yobe State, Mallam Mai Buni expressed shock over the passing of the former governor.

In a statement issued by his DG Media and Publicity, Mamman Mohammed, the governor said,  “This is a huge loss for us at this time, but that is the wish of Allah, our creator. May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and admit him into Aljannatu Firdaus,”

Late Abba Ibrahim was the governor of Yobe State between 1999 and 2007.

After his two term governorship tenure, Abba was elected to represent Yobe East in the Senate between 2007 and 2011.
