El-Rufai Raises Alarm, Accuses NSA Ribadu of Importing Dangerous ‘ Clourless, Ordourless Poison’ Into Nigeria
African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain and former governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasi El-Rufai has accused the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu of importing dangerous poison described as “thallium sulphate” into Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Sunday the former Kaduna State governor who earlier accused Ribadu of instigating the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to illegally arrest him also published a letter he wrote to the NSA to inquire the reason for importing the dangerous substance.
The chemical allegedly imported by the NSA according to El-Rufai is a “ dangerous toxin” and therefore the reason for its importation must be disclosed.
In the statement shared on X, El Rufai wrote, “As part of my duty as a citizen, I wrote to the NSA to seek clarification on reports about the importation by his office of thallium sulphate, a very dangerous toxin. It’s a matter of concern if anyone brings in any poison, more so an odourless, colourless one.”

In the letter addressed to the NSA El Rufai gave further details saying, “I am writing as a concerned citizen to seek clarification and reassurance regarding information available to the political opposition leadership about a procurement of approximately 10 kilograms of Thallium Sulphate by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), reportedly from a supplier in Poland.”
El Rufai challenged regulatory and security agencies including the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to investigate the alleged importation in the interest of public safety.
