EFCC Arrest Ex Sokoto Gov, Aminu Tambuwal Over Alleged Illegal Withdrawal of N189 billion
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a former governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aminu Tambuwal.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives incurrently being detained by the anti-graft agency.
A source at the agency who spoke to FACTSHEET on the condition of anonymity confirmed the arrest and detention of the former governor, revealing that Hon. Tambuwal is being detained for fraudulently withdrawing cash totaling N189 billion.
The withdrawals according to the agency contravenes the Money Laundering (Prevention & Prohibition) Act, 2022.
