The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the Saturday governorship election in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo has so far won 11 out of 17 LGAs results so far declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as at Sunday evening.
Edo State has 18 local government areas.
According the results announced by the Returning Officer, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, the APC candidate is leading by 275,329 votes while the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, follows with 220,892. The Labour Party, LP, is third with 18,737 votes.
