Nigeria’s secrete police, the Department of State Services Service (DSS), has released the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero.
Ajaero was abducted by the DSS at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja while he was boarding a plane to the United Kingdom for a labour event.
The NLC President was released on Monday night after the NLC began mobilizing workers across Nigeria for a showdown with the government.
Confirming the release of the labour leader, rights activist, Omoyele Sowore in a post on his X handle.
Sowore wrote, “BREAKING: The fascist regime of @officialABAT has released the @NLCHeadquarters President Joe Ajaero from @OfficialDSSNG custody on bail.” .
The NLC has, however, not issued any official statement on the release of Comrade Ajaero.
