DSS Directors, Northwest Security Chief Converge in Kaduna Over Escalating Insecurity

Directors of the Department of State Services  (DSS) and representatives of other security agencies inluding the military have converged on Kaduna to delibrate and excahnge ideas on how to tackle the escalating security situation in the region.

The conference which is holding at the Kaduna State DSS office complex along Muhammed Buhari Way started on Thursday also have representatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in attendance.

The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani who was represented by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Sule Shuaibu (SAN) declared the conference open.

In his opening remarks, Governor Sani  who described the DSS as  “The invisible backbone of Nigeria’s internal stability,” commended the service for its patriotism and commitment to the safety and security of the Nigerian state.

The Kaduna governor emphasised that inter-agency collaboration was the bedrock of success in security matters.  He noted that the DSS “has played a vital role in safeguarding democracy and preempting threats nationwide.

Declaring the event open Governor Sani said that “This conference offers an opportunity for reflection, coordination, and strategic renewal.

Delegations from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Niger State and Plateau states were also in attendance.
