The Supreme Court has ruled against the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara in the seeking the sack of 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Delivering judgement on the suit, Justice Musa Uwani-Aba-Aji dismissed the suit filed by Fubara following the sudden withdrawal of the appeal earlier filed by Fubara through his lead counsel, Yusuf Ali SAN.

The apex court is currently sitting on five different appeals originating from the political crisis in Rivers State.
The suits include, Case No: SC/CV/1174/2024 (Rivers State House of Assembly & Others vs. Rivers State Government & Nine Others); Case No: SC/CV/1175/2024 (Rivers State House of Assembly & Others vs. Rivers State Governor & Nine Others); Case No: SC/CV/1176/2024 (Rivers State House of Assembly & Others vs. Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) & Nine Others); Case No: SC/CV/1177/2024 ( Rivers State House of Assembly & Others vs. Accountant General of Rivers State & Nine Others), and Case No: SC/CV/1071A/2024 (Rivers State House of Assembly & Others vs. National Assembly & Sixteen Others).
