The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has felicitated former President Olusegun Obasanjo on his 89th birthday.
In a congratulatory message, Kalu described Obasanjo as a towering statesman, visionary leader, and champion of democracy, emphasizing that his remarkable achievements have helped to shape the nation’s history.
The Deputy Speaker further said that former President Obasanjo’s courageous leadership in transitioning Nigeria to democratic governance in 1979, his commitment to fostering peace, and promoting economic development earned him a revered place in the heart of the nation.
He said: “Your selfless service, integrity, and commitment to Nigeria’s political and economic have inspired a generation of leaders. Your legacy continues to guide us towards a more perfect union, where justice, equality, and opportunity thrive.

The Deputy Speaker prayed God to continue to bless the Octogenarian with good health and happiness.
“May God contine to bless you with good health, happiness, and peace as you mark this milestone birthday”, Kalu said.
