CJN to Inaugurate Daughter-in-law, Wike’s Daughter 10 Others as FCT High Court Judges

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode AriwoolA is set swear –in his daughter in-law, daughter-in-law, Mrs. Victoria Oluwakemi Ariwola, the daughter of the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Lesley Nkesi Belema Wike 10 others as justices of the High Court of the FCT.

The event which has been scheduled to hold on Wednesday, July 10, 2024  will take place at the main auditorium of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in Abuja.

According to a statement issued by the Director, Press and Information of the Supreme Court, Festus Akande, the full list of the newly appointed judges are:

1.Ariwoola Oluwakemi Victoria (Oyo State)
2.Ademuyiwa Olakunle Oyeyipo (Kwara State)
3.Bamodu Odunayo Olutomi (Lagos State)
4.Iheabunike Anumaenwe Godwin (Imo State)
5.Odo Celestine Obinna (Enugu State)
6.Hauwa Lawal Gummi (Zamfara State)
7.Sarah Benjamin Inesu Avoh (Bayelsa State)
8.Maryam Iye Yusuf (Kogi State)
9.Buetnaan Mandy Bassi (Plateau State)
10.Lesley Nkesi Belema Wike (Rivers State)
11.Ibrahim Tanko Munirat (Bauchi State)
12.Abdulrahman Usman (Taraba State)

The National Judicial Council (NJC), on May 17, 2024, approved the appointment of 86 judicial officers into federal and state courts across the country.

Recall that in April 2024, Justice Eberechi Suzzet Wike, the wife of the FCT minister was also elevated to the Court of Appeal from the Rivers State High Court. Mrs.  Wike was among the 22 Justices that were promoted to the appellate court, Nigeria’s second highest court.
