The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the appointment of Caretaker Committee for the Southeast Zone of the party.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by the National Organising Secretary of the party, Hon Umar Bature, Hon. Chidiebere Goodluck Egwu is to serve as the Acting Chairman, while Hon Mike Ahumibe is the Secretary of the Committee.
The nine member Committee is expected to take charge of the affairs of the party in the Southeast Zone for an initial period of 30days in line with the PDP Constitution.
The statement reads in part:
“The National Working Committee (NWC) of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has approved the appointment of the following as South- East Caretaker Committee.
1. Chief Chidiebere Egwu – Chairman.
2. Pascal Ukwani – Member
3. Barr Ukpai Ukairo – Member
4. Hon Kingsley Okafor – Member
5. Hon Chukwudi Apugo – Member
6. Hon Obiora Ugwu – Member
7. Mrs Anthonia Nwankwo – Member
8. Emeka Okeke – Member
9. Hon Mike Ahumibe – Secretary
“Accordingly, the assignment takes effect from December 2nd 2025 and the Committee is charged with the responsibility of running the affairs of the Party in South – East, as stipulated in Section 21(2) (a-b) of our Party Constitution for a period not exceeding 30 days.
