Former Deputy Governor of Lagos State Mrs. Kofoworola Bucknor -Akerele has called for the cancellation of the ongoing local government election in Lagos State over what she described as “a plan to rig the election.”
The former deputy governor while speaking to journalist at her Victoria Island voting unit decried the “disruption of polling units” in a systematic way to ensure victory for a pre-determined political party.
She lamented that that electoral officials were turning people away from the voting units with the excuse that the names of eligible voters were already sent to the electoral officials. She stated her name was missing from the voters list.
The former deputy said:

“The observation is that obviously there is a plan to rig this election because people have not been able to vote in their unit.
“When you get to your unit, they will say they have given them the list of names. I have been to my own unit and my name is not there..
“The unit which I’m supposed to be, in front of Eko Hotel has been moved to Ajose Adeogun. Many people are not able to vote because they have completely disrupted all the polling units.
“I am calling for the cancellation of this election because there is a clear effort to rig the election in favour of one party. Because otherwise, why is that people are not able to vote in their units? Why is that units are being disrupted and placed in the wrong place?
