Bauchi State governor Mr. Bala Mohammed has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) faces the same fate as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the ruling party grows with mass defectors from opposition political parties.
Governor Mohammed made the assertion at the Aso Rock Villa on Friday after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu over the increasing insecurity in some parts of Bauchi State.
The Bauchi governor told journalists that the PDP “exploded”under the weight of its expansion and growth.
According to him, “The APC will need to watch their backs after the primaries, as they are growing larger, much like the PDP.
“The PDP expanded and ultimately exploded, not imploded.
“I do not feel lonely because I understand my state, and my intention is to stay back and observe how elections are won at the polling booth. Elections are won locally, not nationally.
Mohammed according to Aso Rock sources briefed President Tinubu on the security situation in Alkaleri local government area of the state, where some insurgents are reported to be regrouping to attack other parts of the state.
Governor Mohammed and his Oyo State counterpart, Mr. Seyi Makinde form the core of a faction of the PDP that organised the ill-fated national convention of the PDP which has since been upturned by courts for not meeting constitutional thresholds of national convention of the party.
