Ali Odefa Has Been Expelled from PDP, Nolonger a Member of Our Part- PDP Zonal Legal Adviser, Ukairo
The Zonal Legal Adviser to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Southeast Zone, Barr. Ukpai Ukairo has reiterated that the Mr. Ali Odefa remained expelled from the party.
In a statement issued in Enugu on Monday, Ukairo informed Party members in the Southeast Zone that Odefa and Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, a member of the House of Representatives were ‘expelled” by the “appropriate levels of the party.”
The zonal legal adviser was reacting to a purpoted statement signed by Mr. Odefa calling on party members to boycott a meeting scheduled at the PDP Headquarters Abuja by the National Working Committee of the party. Critical stakeholders in the party from the five states of the South-East are scheduled to meet with National Working Committee of the Party to discuss issues affecting the PDP in the Southeast Zone on Tuesday January 28, at the NEC Hall of the PDP Secretariat.
Barr. Ukairo’s statement reads:
“Attention!!!
“The meeting of the South-East Stakeholders of PDP still holds tomorrow, Tuesday the 28th day of January, 2025 as scheduled at the PDP National Headquarters Wàdata Plaza, FCT. Abuja by 2:00pm prompt.
“All invitees to the meeting are enjoined to ignore and discountenance the junk write up circulated online by one Ikenga Ugochinyere and Chief Ali Odefa both of whom have been expelled from the Peoples Democratic Party by appropriate levels and organs of the PDP.”
Mr. Ali Odefa was expelled by the Executive members of his Oguduokwor Ward in Onicha LGA of Ebonyi State on December 12, 2024.
Odefa was earlier suspended on September 4, 2024 and a Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki on November 29, 2024 affirmed the suspension.
Consequent upon the expulsion of Mr. Odefa, stakeholders in Ebonyi State on January 20, 2025 anmounced the nomination of the Zonal Youth Leader, Hon. Goodluck Chidiebere Egwu to replace Mr. Odefa as the substantive National Vice Chairman, PDP Southeast.
