The Commissioner of Police Akwa Ibom State, CP Waheed Ayilara has died.
The top police chief died on Thusday morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.
The late CP was said to have successfully undergone a prostrate procedure on Wednesday at the hospital, but suddenly developed some complications that were being managed until he died in the early hours of Thursday.
A member of Mr. Ayilara’s family who spoke to the Nation Newspaper confirmed the death of the CP.
He was quoted to have told the newspaper that, “We are very sad to inform you that our friend, brother and family member, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara, is dead.”
