The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has inaugurated its Membership, Revalidation, Mobilization and Registration (MRMR) Committee as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and establish a credible, verifiable national membership database ahead of future political engagements.
The committee was inaugurated in Abuja on Wednesday by the National Chairman of the party, Senator David A. B. Mark, GCON, who described the initiative as a strategic step toward repositioning the ADC for growth, unity, and national relevance.
Addressing party leaders and stakeholders at the event, Senator Mark said no political party could achieve electoral success without a strong, active, and properly documented membership base, stressing that membership remains the lifeblood of any democratic organization.
“The ADC was founded on the principles of justice, equity, accountability, and people-centered governance. For these ideals to translate into political success, our party must be anchored on a solid, credible, and verifiable membership base, supported by effective mobilization structures across the federation,” he said.

According to him, the constitution of the MRMR Committee followed a resolution of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to revalidate existing members, register new ones, harmonize membership records, and deepen the party’s grassroots presence nationwide.
The ADC chairman outlined the committee’s mandate to include overseeing nationwide membership registration, developing and implementing grassroots mobilization strategies from polling units to the state level, deploying electronic and manual registration systems, and conducting a comprehensive membership revalidation exercise across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Other responsibilities include harmonizing existing membership data to eliminate duplication and irregularities, strengthening party structures through membership expansion, and submitting an interim report to the NWC within 30 days. He also disclosed that new membership cards with enhanced security features, customized for individual states and the FCT, have been introduced to enhance transparency and credibility.
Charging members of the committee to carry out their assignment with integrity, fairness, and transparency, Senator Mark emphasized that the exercise was aimed at inclusion rather than exclusion.
“This exercise is about strengthening, organizing, and repositioning our party to meet the expectations of Nigerians who yearn for credible leadership and democratic governance,” he said.
Members of the newly inaugurated MRMR Committee include Kashim Imam (Chairman); Aisha Yesufu (Deputy Chairman); Sekonte Davies (Secretary); Senator Nurudeen Abatemi; Hon. Yomi Arokodare; Remi Fanibe, MS; Adijat Ojelade; Hon. (Mrs.) Abeje Egwa; Hon. Abas Anas Adamu; Dr. Tanko Yunusa; Paul Lawrence Okorie; Dr. (Mrs.) Esther Irebo; Hon. Abdullahi Maibasira; Sir Stanley Ekezie; Prof. Festus Arunaye; Jibrin Sabo Keana; Hon. Mina Horsfall; Hon. Shehu Mohammed Koko; Chief Gbazuagu Nneke Gbazuagu; and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by members of the National Working Committee, National Executive Committee, party leaders, and key stakeholders from across the country.
Senator Mark formally inaugurated the committee and expressed confidence that its work would deepen internal democracy, energize the party’s grassroots base, and adequately prepare the ADC for future political challenges.
The event concluded with party chants of “ADC! Arise!” symbolizing renewed commitment to unity, growth, and national service.
