Commissioners and Special Advisers in the Governor Ahmadu Fintiri administration in Adamawa State have announced their resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and subsequent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The commissioners ad SAs who made the announcement under the aegis of ‘Commissioners and Special Advisers Forum’ comprise of 23 commissioners and 39 special advisers who appended their signatures in solidarity with Governor Fintiri who announced his defection to the APC in a statewide broadcast on Friday.
According to the appointees, the series of legal battles and leadership tussles within the ranks of the PDP informed their decision.

According to them, their decision was a demonstration of a unified front in support of Governor Fintiri’s decision, a move the commissioners described as being taken in the “best interest of Adamawa State.”
According to the commissioners, their collective stance reflects a commitment to political stability, continuity of governance, and the overall development agenda of the state.
Speaking on behalf of the cabinet members present, Alloysious Babadoke, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, James Iliya, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, and Dr Garba Umar Pella, Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development and Habu Jada for the advisers emphasised that their decision was reached after wide consultations and careful consideration of prevailing political realities.
