Sylvester Nwakuche Set to Take Over as Controller General of Nigeria Correctional Service on Sunday

The newly appointed Acting Controller General, Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Sylvester Nwakuche will tomorrow Sunday December 15, 2024 assume duty at the headquarters of the  NCoS Abuja.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved the appointment of Mr. Sylvester Nwakuche as the Acting Controller General, Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)on Friday.

The new appointment follows the expiration of the tenure of the outgoing Controller-General, Haliru Nababa.

According to a statement issued in Abuja on Friday by Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary to the Civil Defence, Immigration, Fire Service and Correctional Service Board, CDCFIB, the appointment takes effect from Sunday December 15, 2024.

The statement stated that Nwakuche’s appointment was a testament to his wealth of experience and dedication to the Service

It further stated that President Bola Tinubu charged the new Correctional Service boss, to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new capacity and ensuring the continued transformation of the service.

Mr.  Nwakuche, hails from Oguta in Imo State, and was born on Nov. 26, 1966.

Until his appointment, Nwakuche was the Deputy Controller General, DCG, in charge of Training and Staff Development Directorate, where he played crucial role in shaping the training and development policies of the Service.
