Rumours of Raid on My House All ‘Lies,’ I’m Committed to Honest Service to My Constituents-Hon. El Rufai
The lawmaker representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Bello Nasir El Rufai has said that allegations that his house in Kaduna was raided by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) whereby millions were recovered in local and foreign currencies were all lies.
Bello is the eldest son of former governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El Rufai.
Rumours emerged on the internet that the young El Rufai’s home in Kaduna was raided by operatives of Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the EFCC and sums ranging from $800 million, N700 billion and N1 trillion worth of drugs were recovered from his palatial home at the Unguwar Sarki area of the Kaduna State capital.
However, dismissing the rumours as “lies,” Hon El Rufai said that the allegations were part of “ignorant attacks” being pursued by his political traducers to distract him.
He reiterated his resolve not to be distracted from his resolve to serve his constituents to the best of his ability.
“My constituents that I represent know what would happen if I was blessed with such figures.
“For those sponsoring these ignorant attacks, I assure you that we will continue to serve the people, and we will continue to enjoy how it annoys them; adding quality, frank, and honest representation is here to stay in Kaduna North.
“The use of fake news to manipulate public perception and instigate discord, stressing the attempt to connect him to illicit activities through unfounded allegations was not only defamatory but an affront to the principles of justice and fairness,” a statement he issued on Wednesday read in part.
