Just as popular crossdresser, Bobrisky was arrested at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Thursday night as he made to flee Nigeria, his enstranged associate and social activist, Martin Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkman (VDM) has also been detained by the police.
According to VDM’s lawyer, Denji Adeyanju, the social activist was detained after he had voluntarily honoured a police invitation.
In a statement Mr. Adeyanju posted on his social media page, the lawyer wrote, , “Our client, VDM has been detained after honouring police invitation just like yesterday.
“VDM has been consistent in saying the Nigerian Police are our friends even when we all know they are not.”
VDM has been enmeshed in controversies over his revelation that officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and officers of Nigeria Correctional Service asked for bribes over the detention of crossdresser, Bobrisky.
VDM also seem to have gotten into trouble after the police accused him of using its kits without authorisation
The police authorities, has, however, not commented on the arrest of VDM
