Human right activist and co-convener of the Bring-Back-Our-Girls movement has described the former national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Julius Abure as a “shameless liar.”
Ms. Yesuufu as staunch member of the Labour Party made the statement on her X handle in reaction to accusations from the former LP Chairman to the effect that Ms Yesufu and Pastor Itua Ighodalo was responsible for the administration of funds the presidential campaign council during the 2023 presidential election.
Abure made the accusations in a world press conference he address in Abuja.
According to Abure, “The party was never involved in the distribution of those resources. Our interest was to see how we could produce a president for the party. How it was done was not our concern. Hence, we gave them free rein. We allowed them to entrust their resources to whomever they wanted. We followed them loyally by allowing them to administer the campaign funds.”
However, reacting to the accusation, Ms Yesufu said that, “Julius Abure thinks we are still in 1980 where one can lie shamelessly without being fact-checked.”
Yesufu said that the party and its officials managed the campaign funds of the party during the electioneering process.
