The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has congratulated a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mazi Afam Osigwe on his emergence as the president-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
It will be recalled that Osigwe, the senior partner of Law Forte, a firm of legal practitioners, arbitrators and notaries emerged winner of NBA presidential election held online over the weekend.
Osigwe who holds two masters of law degrees was called to the Bar in Nigeria, in September 1999 and became SAN in 2020.
He has also served as a chairman and General Secretary of the Bar at different times.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Levinus Nwabughiogu, Kalu, also a lawyer enjoined Osigwe to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new assignment.
He urged him to ensure that professionalism and integrity remain the lot of members.
Kalu who is also the chairman, House Committee on constitution review said he will work the president-elect in achieving the desired judicial reform for the promotion of rule of law in the country.
