Gov Makinde Inaugurates 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has presented staff of office to Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, Ige Olakulehin 1 as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Governor Makinde made the presentation on Friday afternoon at a ceremony at the iconic Mapo Hall, Ibadan.
The governor expressed happiness over the installation of the new paramount ruler of Ibadanland as he said that there were some machinations to truncate the occasion.
According to the governor, “They said they want to sabotage, they want to sabotage, we are here today at Mapo Hall.
“I, Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State by the virtue of power conferred on me, hereby present the staff of office to the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.
“Let us say Kabiesi!”
The event attracted crème de la crème of the traditional institution in Nigeria as well as government officials from across the Southwest region of Nigeria.
Among the list of guests include Governor, Dapo Abiodun, OF Ogun State, his Ondo State counterpart, Lucky Aiyedatiwa who was represented by his deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami and the Oyo State deputy governor, Bayo Lawal.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi; Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar; the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola are among first class traditional rulers that graced the occasion.
