PDP Disbands Ebonyi Caretaker Committee, to Appoint New One
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday disbanded the initial caretaker committee it earlier constituted for its Ebonyi State chapter.
The decision of the party was sequel to protests by some leaders of the party in the Ebonyi who had earlier raised concerns over the people in the in the disbanded caretaker committee.
In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba, the party said it will appoint new caretaker committee that will be acceptable to all sections of the party in Ebonyi State.
According to Ologunagba, “The National Working Committee (NWC) at its 586th meeting today, Tuesday May 7, 2024 revisited the issue of the Ebonyi Caretaker Committee and considered the imperatives of bringing all stakeholders of our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State together.
“After an extensive deliberation of issues, it was resolved that the NWC convene a meeting of critical stakeholders at which meeting an all-inclusive new Caretaker Committee will be constituted for the State Chapter.
“The NWC enjoins all PDP members in Ebonyi State to continue to work together in the overall interest of the people and the good people of Ebonyi State.”
