Ihedioha in Abia to Confer with Otti on ‘Plan to Join Labour Party’
Former Deputy Speaker and governor of Imo State, Hon Emeka Ihedioha who resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has paid, a courtesy visit to the governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti.
Dr. Otti is the only governor elected on the platform of the Labour Party (LP). Otti seen as one of the most popular governor in the southeast.
There has been rumours that Ihedioha is set to join the Labour Party ahead of the next election season in Imo State.
A political ally of Ihedioha who spoke to FACTSHEET on the condition of anonymity because he is not authorised tp speak on the matter yet said, “yes it is true, we are joining labour party soon, but arrangements have not been concluded.”
“Anyanwu and Wike has killed PDP in Imo, we cannot work together obviously,” he concluded.
Confirming the meeting via a statement posted on his X handle, Ihedioha wrote, “Delighted to have met with my esteemed brother and friend, Governor @alexottiofr, at his residence in Isialangwa. We had a convivial discussion, even as I commend his giant strides in Abia State.”
Several leaders and members of the PDP in Imo State also joined Ihedioha to resign from the PDP.
