Developing Story: Released Kuriga Schoolchildren Arrive Kaduna Govt House

The 137 kidnapped schoolchildren in Kuriga, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State who were rescued by Nigerian military from terrorists in Zamfara State have arrived the Government House, Kaduna.

The schoolchildren  were driven into the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House  at about 2pm in buses belonging to the 1 Division Nigerian Army Headquarters in Kaduna with heavy military guards accompanying them.

There has been controversy over the number of the schoolchildren kidnapped. On March 7, when they were taken by terrorists, it was believed that 287 children and their teachers were taken hostage, however, on Sunday when the military announced they have been released by their abductors, they were only 137.

The Kaduna State Government is expected to make an announcement on the after receiving the children from military authorities later in the day.
