Again, Rivers Commissioner for Works Resigns, Joins Tinubu’s Govt
The Rivers State Commissioner for Works Mr. George-Kelly Alabo has resigned from Governor Siminalaye Fubara’s government.
The commissioner said he was leaving the government to take up a new position in the Federal Government, as the Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).
The former commissioner, a strong ally of the minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike was on Thursday appointed by President Bola Tinubu to head the border communities agency.
This is the second time Mr. Alabo will be resigning from Fubara’s government. He had earlier resigned at the thick of the crisis that rocked Rivers State over the superiority fight between Governor Fubara and Wike, but the former commissioner as part of the reconciliation moves went back to his job.
