Peace in Southeast: Again, Yule Edochie Calls on Preisdent Tinubu to Release Nnamdi Kanu
Nollywood star, Yule Edochie has reiterated his call on President Bola Tinubu to free detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kalu.
Edochie made the appeal on Monday at the National Assembly Abuja when Nigerian entertainers and actors came to express their support for PEACE IN THE SOUTHEAST PROJECT (PISE-P), and initiative of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Benjamin Kalu.
The event which drew a list entertainers including Zack Orji, Peter Okoye of Psquare, Jim Iyke, Destiny Etiko, Tina Mba among many other stars held at the National Assembly Library Complex.
Making his contribution after a riveting speech delivered by the Deputy Speaker, Edochie who expressed his unflinching support for President Tinubu said that “part of the reason for the agitation of those boys in the Southeast is the release of Nnamdi Kanu.”
He said that releasing Nnamdi Kalu will give impetus to various efforts being made to restore normalcy in the region.
Earlier in his speech, the Deputy Speaker lamented the desolation of the economy of the Southeast, including that of the creative industry due to the sit-at-home which he said has culminated into “laziness amongst the youth of the region.”
Hon. Kalu called on the entertainers to deploy their creative talents to create messages that will restore the dignity and creative spirit of the young people of the Southeast.
