The Court of Appeal Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a fresh certificate of return for the Langtang Central State Constituency of Plateau State to Mr. Daniel Ninbol Listic of the Labour Party (LP).
This follows the ruling of the court which sacked Hon. Rimvjat Nanbol of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ruling of the appeal brought by the PDP candidate who was earlier sacked by the Plateau State National and State Assembly Election Tribunal, the lead Justice, Justice Okon Abang held that going by the ruling of a Plateau State High Court, the PDP never existed in the contest of the election.
“It is my view that without complying with court order, there was no party by the name PDP in the election.
“It is a joke taken too far for a political party to disobey an order of court,” he said.
He therefore, ruled that “The appeal lacks merit and is accordingly dismissed. The judgment of the Tribunal is hereby affirmed.”
