UNGA81: Odumegwu-Ojukwu Briefs Shettima on Nigeria’s Participation
Vice President Kashim Shettima has received a briefing from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, on the country’s participation in the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81) in New York.
The briefing focused on Nigeria’s priorities, key engagements and expectations during the high-level UNGA week, which runs from September 22 to 28 under the theme, “Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations That Delivers for All.”
Shettima, who is representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said Nigeria would use the gathering to advance its national interests, strengthen multilateral cooperation and support reforms that give developing countries a stronger voice in global affairs.
The meeting was attended by several governors and members of the Federal Executive Council, including the ministers of Solid Minerals Development, Women Affairs, Education and State for Budget and Economic Planning, as well as the Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
