The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has secured the final forfeiture of 48 properties linked to former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN.
Ruling on the matter on Wednesday, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court Abuja held that the Commission had successfully established that the properties were reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities and were not acquired with lawful sources of income.
Malami, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) alongside his wife and son are currently on trial for corruption and diversion of public funds running into billions of naira.
