The Governor Seyi Makinde-backed Taminu Turaki group within the Peoples Democratic Party has announced it has adopted former president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as its presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Though President Jonathan has kept mum over the activities of the group and effectively shunned the gathering in Abuja, the group went ahead to announce it has adopted Jonathan as its sole candidate.
In a “ hurriedly” organised “ national convention” held at the at the group’s secretariat in Area 10, Garki, Abuja, Mr. Fred Agbedi was presented with a certificate of return for President Jonathan.
President Jonathan has not commented on the endorsement at press time.

Despite his support for Mr. Kabiru Turaki, Governor Makinde as well as his Bauchi State counterpart, Mr. Bala Mohammed have both joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
While Governor Makinde has announced his aspiration for president on the platform of the APM, Governor Bala Mohammed has opted for a senatorial seat in Bauchi State.
