The winner of the presidential primary election if the African Democratic Congress (ADC), former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has paid a reconciliation visit to his main rival, Rotimi Amechi at his Abuja home.
Earlier, Atiku Abubakar had won the three-horse race by polling a total of 1,846,370 votes, while Rt. Hon Rotimi Amaechi t came second with 504,117, and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen polled 177,120 votes to come third.
After securing the presidential ticket, Atiku promised to embark on a reconciliation visit to his opponents promising to ensure that the party goes into the 2027 general election as a united political party.

The visit to Amechi according to a top ADC official who spoke to FACTSHEET is the “beginning of a reconciliatory moves that the former Vice President has mapped out to embark on in the coming days.”
Atiku had also issued a stern warning to the President Bola Tinubu to stop “interfering in the affairs of the opposition party” or risk facing severe consequences.
There are already speculations that Atiku may be considering using Amechi as his running mate in the presidential election.
