Senate Confirms Two New Ministers

The Senate has confirmed Mr. Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe (Oyo State) as Minister of Power while Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye (Kogi State)  is to take over as the  Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

The confirmation of the duo follows their earlier  nomination by President Bola Tinubu.

Earlier, President Tinubu is a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio which was read on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday had implored the Senate to confirm their nominations.

Mr. Tegbe takes over form Mr. Adebayo Adelabu who had earlier resigned his appointment to enable him contest the governoship election in Oyo State.

Similarly, Sola Enikanolaiye will replace Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-OJukwu who hitherto served as the minister of State for Foreign Affairs, but was last week elevated as the substantive  Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Upon their nomination and subsequent request by the president for the nominees to be confirmed by the National Assembly, the duo were screened and subsequently confirmed by the Senate.

Ambassador Enikanolaiye, a native of Kogi State was until his appointment the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.
