Three Suspects to Be Arraigned in Court Today Over Murder of Nigerian Uber Driver in South Africa

 

Three suspects are set to be arraigned before a Pretoria Magistrate Court on Monday over the brutal murder of a Nigerian student and Uber driver, Isaac Satlat.

22 year old Satlat was brutally murdered after he had responded a to a ride request in Pretoria.

A CCTV footage circulated on the social media showed  a woman and a  man attack Satlat in his car.

Earlier, the suspected woman, a 25 year old South African was the first to be arrested after which to other suspected male accomplices were arrested in connection with the crime.

Confirming the arrest of the two male accomplices, Gauteng provincial police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo said investigations were ongoing and that officers were still searching for another suspect.

“The police have arrested two more suspects after an e-hailing driver was allegedly killed on Wednesday, 11 February 2026. The two male suspects, who are aged 30 and 26, will join the third suspect, aged 25, who was arrested on Friday, 13 February 2026,” Masondo told reporters.

The police chief reiterated that, “All suspects are expected to appear before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 February 2026, facing charges that include car hijacking and murder.”

Isaac’s body was found riddled with bullets in Atteridgeville, Pretoria West, on Wednesday, February 11, after being attacked by some individuals who also hijacked his vehicle.

 

Isaac’s lifeless body and the hijacked vehicle were recovered  on the same day in Atteridgeville.

 

Masondo said the female suspect faces charges of hijacking and murder and would appear before the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
