The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved the appointment of Caretaker State Working Committees (CSWC) for Kano, Zamfara, Plateau and Yobe states.
According to separate statements issued on the appointments by the Caretaker National Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, a 17-man Caretaker Committee appointed for Kano State is led by Dr. Bello Gambo Bichi as Chairman, while Hon Rabiu Sale Wangal is appointed State Secretary.
In Zamfara State, Hon. Zikikar Auwal Tambaya will serve as the Chairman while, Hon. Rabiu Mani Shinkafi will serve as the State Secretary, 16 others were also appointed as members.
For Plataeu State, Dr. Gideon Nandem Tyem is the Chairman of the 13-man Caretaker Committee, while, Hon Gorje A. Hirfo has been appointed State Secretary.
Similarly, for Yobe State, a 17-man Caretaker Committee has been appointed with Hon Yusuf Adullahi Malushe as Chairman, while Mairambe Alhaji Modu is appointed State Secretary.

According to the publicity secretary, the appointments were in pursuant to Article 29(2)(b) of the PDP constitution.
The committees have been “with the responsibility of managing the affairs of the party in their [respective] state[s], as stipulated in section 21(2)(a-b) of the PDP constitution.”
The statement notes that “the tenure the committee[s] shall be for a period of 30days . or until such a time as a new Executive Committee is elected.”
The PDP at its 105 National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting adopted timeble for the conduct of outstanding congresses, while its National Convention has been scheduled to hold in Abuja between March 28 and 29, 2026.
