We Didn’t Reject ‘Electronic Transmission’ of Results, We Cannot Drag Nigeria Back- Senate President, Akpabio
The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio has debunked media reports that the Senate had deleted “electoral transmission” of election results from the ongoing Electoral Act 2022 ongoing at the National Assembly.
Speaking at the plenary on Wednesday, Senator Akpabio clarified that “We did not delete the electronic transmission,” of result from the act.
Assuring the public that the senate under his watch would not take Nigeria back in an age of technological advancement, the Akpabio stated that what was rejected was an amendment to existing section on electronic transmission of results.

He said:
“This Senate under my watch has not rejected electronic transmission of results. It is in my interest as a participant in the next election for such to be done.
“Please don’t go with the crowd, we have retained what was in the previous provision, that’s all we did.
“So if we rejected what was proposed by way of amendment and say let us retain what was in the previous provision that made provision for electronic transmission. So it is still there as part of our laws.
“And I think we should be moving forward, not backward. There is no way we can in this era of electronics we will bow be going backwards. So its important to know that
