Police Arraigns Anthony Joshua Driver for Manslaughter

The Ogun State Police Command has charged Mr. Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, the driver of former World Boxing Heavy weight champion, Anthony Joshua to court over the road crash that injured the Nigerian-British sportsman and killed his two friends along the Lagos/Ibdan federal highway.

In a media statement issued in Abeokuta on Friday, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer,  DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed that Mr. Kayode has been charged before a Shagamu Magistrate Court for manslaughter.

According to the statement, “The Ogun State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that the driver of the Lexus SUV involved in the Anthony Joshua accident case, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, aged 46, was charged to the Sagamu Magistrate Court today, 2nd January, 2026 and the case has been adjourned to 20th January, 2026.

The world renowned boxer was on Monday involved in a fatal road accident thainjured him, while his two friends and  teammates Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele were killed in the ghastly crash.
