The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the suspension of its earlier planned grand reception for the governor of Taraba State, Mr. Agbu Kefas n who is set to defect to the party tomorrow (Wednesday), November 19, 2025
Governor Kefas had earlier resigned his membership of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) whose platform he was elected in the 2023 general election.
According to the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Felix Morka, the cancellation of the defection event was in honour of Nigerian military personnel killed in the fight against insurgency and the abducted Kebbi School girls.
Mr. Morka said the APC “salutes the courage and sacrifices of our men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line in defence of our liberty and security.”
He stated that the party mourns the victims of recent attacks and prays for the safe return of abducted students.
He noted that the APC “commiserates deeply with families of victims of these incidents.”
The APC spokesman reiterated that President Bola Tinubu remains committed to ending insurgency and banditry across the country.
