Nigeria’s former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has denied reports claiming that he has donated a brand-new Toyota SUV to the military officer involved in an altercation with the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike over a disputed piece of land in Abuja.
FACTSHEET reported that a junior military officer identified as Lieutenant Ahmed Yerima engaged in a heated verbal exchanges with the minister over a disputed land in the Gaduwa District of the Abuja.
The altercation seen in a viral social media video has elicited major reactions among Nigerian both in the mainstream and social media.
Pictures, however, surfaced in various social media handle insinuating that the former Vice President had made a car gift donation to the Lt Yerima.

However, in a statement issued via his X handle on Thursday, Atiku’s Media Adviser, Mr. Paul Ibe, described the report as completely false. He therefore, called on the public to disregard the fabricated story.
“His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, Vice President of Nigeria (1999–2007), did not gift Lt. Ahmed Yerima — or any other individual — a brand new Toyota SUV, contrary to the false reports currently circulating on social media
“The story is entirely fabricated and should be completely disregarded by the public,” he said
