Northeast Govs Visit Tinubu, Demand Completion of 17 Roads, Resumption of Oil Exploration in Bauchi, Lake Chad
Governors of the six Northeast states have called on President Bola Tinubu to facilitate the completion of 17 key road infrastructure projects in the region.
The Northeast governor led by their chairman, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State made the demand on Wednesday during a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa Abuja.
The governors who were in the Villa under the auspices of Northeast Governors’ Forum also demanded the resumption of oil exploration in the Lake Chard Basin as well as increasing exploration activities Kolmani wells cutting across Bauchi and Gombe states.

Governors present at the meeting include, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Bala Muhammad (Bauchi), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri (Adamawa) and Agbu Kefas (Taraba).
Listing their request, Governor Zulum, called on President Tinubu ensure the speedy completion of road projects in the region to boost economic activities, security and agriculture.
Some of the roads are, Kano–Maiduguri Road, Port Harcourt–Jos–Bauchi–Maiduguri Railway line, Bama–Mubi–Yola Road, Wukari–Jalingo–Yola Road, Bauchi–Gombe–Biu–Damaturu Road, Damaturu–Geidam Road, Gombe–Potiskum–Damaturu–Biu Road, Maiduguri–Monguno–Baga Road and Maiduguri–Ngala–Bama–Banki Road, among many others.
Responding, President Tinubu assured the governors that his administration is committed to addressing infrastructure gaps and economic development in the region.
